PLANNING / 15 MIN SUGGESTED PRACTICE

A folder you can follow

Create a simple project folder structure and a naming rule that future you can understand.

01

Start with a practice copy

Use a new folder for the exercise. Add a few copies of harmless practice files rather than moving or deleting important originals. Choose three simple areas: source, working and finished.

02

Choose a naming rule

Write a rule using a short project name, a meaningful description and a version or date where it helps. Try the same pattern on the practice files. A useful name should explain something before you open the file.

03

Leave a short handover

Create a short note that explains the folders, the naming rule and the current finished file. Imagine another person returning to the project after a month. Keep the note short enough to maintain.
