Start with something specific
Choose a place, an object and one person. Give the person a small, concrete intention: find a key, catch a bus or return a borrowed book. A modest intention is enough to create movement.
Write six lines
Use the first two lines to establish the place and intention. Let something change in the next two. Use the final two lines to show a response or a small consequence. Do not explain everything about the person.
Read and remove
Read the scene aloud. Remove an explanation that the action already makes clear. Replace one vague word with a detail you could see, hear or touch. Keep the result to six lines.
