PLANNING / 15 MIN SUGGESTED PRACTICE

The one-page brief

Give a small creative project an outcome, a boundary and a next action.

01

Name the outcome

Describe the thing you want to make in one sentence. Keep it tangible: a four-page booklet, a short photo sequence or a one-minute spoken story. Avoid using a broad ambition as the deliverable.

02

Set three boundaries

Write down who it is for, what you will leave out and the time you can give it. Boundaries help you choose a first version rather than waiting for every possible version.

03

Define the next visible action

Choose a step you can complete in a short session. Replace plan the project with list four page headings, gather three reference images or draft the opening paragraph. End with an action someone could observe.
